xCBL 3.5 Document Definitions (XDR Version)

Because of the ability of XDR Schemas to validate datatypes and provide other benefits of XML Schema languages over DTD, and because of the prevalence of Microsoft tools (such as BizTalk) that rely on its use, many xCBL users need the XDR definitions of the xCBL components and documents. The following zip archives are available for downloading free of charge:

• Single root schemas - One XDR schema per document in xCBL 3.5.
• Biztalk schemas. These have attributes and other application specific aspects and are designed for use within the BizTalk server. This download actually contains two sets of single root XDR schemas. One set for use with the BizTalk Tools (schema editor & mapper) and one for use at runtime. The reason for this being that the tools inside BizTalk do not support some of the high level constructs of XDR used by xCBL, but the runtime environment does. So to get the best possible validation we included them in the runtime schemas, but took them out of the Tools schemas to prevent errors from being generated inside the tools.
